So after all the hype, I finally was able to watch a couple clips of Sarah Palin’s new show on TLC. (Clips here in case youre interested:  http://tlc.discovery.com/videos/sarah-palin-alaska/ )

So…..political pundits, what do you have to say? Nevermind, Im sorry I asked…..

I have no idea how this woman thinks that basically being the head of tourism for the cold state of Alaska (probably not a real position) can be turned into a presidential run in the future. Since when do our politicians turn into Travel Network reporters?

How can ANYONE who is serious about politics be a fan of THIS?

How can any self-respecting woman watch this and STILL take this Palin chick seriously? (yea, there are people who take her seriously)

Unfortunately, the former VP candidate, who claims to ‘leave her family out of it’, appears to be using this exact family to promote herself in this show. She is the EXACT example of hypocrisy! You cannot bring your family to the forefront like this and then expect no one to talk about them.

One last thing…..ya know that line that Tina Fey made famous? Ya know….the one about seeing Russia from her house? I think (dont quote me on it tho) Tina Fey made that line up without Palin actually saying it. Until now. Yep, Palin does say this idiotic line that -(wait for it)- made her a complete joke in the first place!

I know that laughing at yourself can be fun…..but really?

Please America – Spare us from Sarah Palin.

Real conservatives are asking for your help 🙂

Lets be honest….I started out liking Sarah Palin when she was chosen to run as the republican vice-presidential running mate of John McCain. As a conservative, she sort-of ‘legitimized’ the republican ticket….beings that McCain is more of what you would call, a rino (republican in name only). The first thing I can say that I still respect her for is that she is pro-life. She had the opportunity to abort a child that knowingly would be born with Down Syndrome, but carried him to term despite this knowledge.

However, soon thereafter came warning signs that she was not what we thought she was.

Granted, during the campaign, most of what was picked on were purely political attacks….to which I can only say, SOMEONE – ANYONE should have worked with her regarding the media. Im sure that part of her problems now could have been nipped in the bud W-A-Y back then, because she certainly hasnt improved in this arena. (writing on her hand, not responding directly to questions)

One of the biggest issues I have with Sarah Palin is that she quit midway thru her term as Governor of Alaska. Now, today I had a disagreement with someone I know personally, because apparently the words I should have used is Palin resigned….HOWEVER, the fact remains that her constituents elected her to serve a term, which is 4 years – and she only served 2. She resigned on her own accord. She is no longer the Governor of Alaska, is she? Therefore, it doesnt matter what you call it, she choose to walk away from this responsibility.

This is the snarky comment I posted that led to the conversation: http://twitter.com/sfaulstich/status/22364956559

And here is the definition of quit on dictionary.com:  http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/quit You will notice that the 3rd one on the list mentions resign 🙂

I am sorry to say, that during the conversation/debate it was stated that my argument was a democratic argument…..which completely perplexed me. Anyone who knows me (which they do) knows that I do not argue on a partisan level. I hate that crap!

And this leads right into my other problem with Palin….and well Glenn Beck. Both have inserted themselves into the tea party rally crowd as well as this odd new type of rally that is popping up.

The original tea party rallies were held over a decade ago by true non-partisan, independent, (do I need more adjectives?) people who were fed up with how big our government was getting and the fact that our freedoms were being taken, little by little. Most conservatives call these people hippies or liberals (or even worse). Most of the founding tea party activists are now with organizations like We Are Change and are leading the 9/11 truth movement these days. Today the non-partisan movement that is known as the tea parties, is filled with so-called conservatives and followers of Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin.

The tea parties and rallies that figures like Glenn Beck are leading, bring in those who have a partisan political agenda. There is no way for someone who is truly non-partisan and Taxed Enough Already to feel comfortable in that type of setting.

However, just what was Becks rally supposed to do? You have people who could be actually working for a viable candidate by knocking on doors, sign-waving, or making phone calls standing in the grass in the middle of DC……Way to go ralliers! You certainly showed the country just how active and participatory you can be!!!

Oh, and one more thing……Im not gonna stop calling em like I see em because she endorsed a candidate I also prefer. (Re: Murphy for Gov) That isnt the correct reason to like or respect anyone!

On the contrary, many people probably will overlook this candidate because of her endorsement. If you dont believe that there is a true conservative backlash to Sarah Palin, you havent been paying attention.

I just ask that you really look into who you are defending and see where people are coming from. This woman has inserted herself into situations that she doesnt need to. Her comments make no sense sometimes and make her look foolish. This is not a partisan statement. This is fact.

I HAVE to do this blog…Its a long one, so sit back, read on, and be amazed. There are six videos embedded with comments. http://www.infowars.com/footage-from-the-original-1997-tea-party-protests/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

I know Ill probably take heat on this one, specifically from my conservative friends. But Im sorry, I am not in love with Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin….Im tired of all the fascination already. They can do no wrong in most of the GOPs eyes. I respect them both for differing reasons, but they have faults….and Im tired of everyone acting like they need to bow down before these people.

Please do not email me with your -I got it wrong- Leave a comment WITH YOUR NAME. If I can post this under my name, you can leave a comment with yours.

The ORIGINAL Tea Party was THIS:
Firstly, I stand corrected when I say that I researched the first “Tea Party” and it was not in 2000-01 as I previously stated. It was earlier – 1998. And for all those who are bandwaggon tea partiers….do you realize who your ‘…leader’ was? It was Alex Jones….yep, for all those that dog me because I peruse his website….including my conservative friends….You will see how small this movement was back then, as well as the fact that it was basically ran by unknowns outside of Texas. It was only recently that the GOP joined in and well Im sure you all know the rest….Glenn Becks involvement – Sarah Palins involvement…..and how those who have seen it grow can literally claim that while the movement has grown, it has been taken over.

Here are clips from the Tea Party Convention – Sarah Palins remarks (with my observations)

Pt 1
My observations: So Sarah Palin takes one minute by beating it thru our heads that shes proud to be American….most of us are. This is a time waster in my opinion. We hear about Scott Brown…honestly? Hes already gone back on several campaign promises. Enough! Im tired of hearing that BHO is blaming GWB….whatever! Shes coming off pretty cocky. Around 8:00 minutes in we hear the ‘charasmatic man with a teleprompter’ bit. That doesnt sound like she was joking to me.

Pt 2
My observations: At 3:50 minutes in, we hear the ‘we need a Commander in Chief, not a Professor of Law’ bit. Honestly? Is this necessary? At 5:00 minutes in, Sarah Palin actually states that Alaska is the beacon of hope. When did this happen? Its the first Ive heard of this one! At 7:30 in, she mentions sanctions. As a level headed person, I realize sanctions only hurt the citizens of whatever country they are used. Their leaders do not care. This only gives them more fuel to hate us. Learn this! Near the end of this clip, Sarah Palin actually attempts to blame the bailout on BHO…uh….this is a boo-boo the GWB administration did.

Pt 3
My observations: Leg-is-slate-tors? Odd pronunciation there. At 2:00 minutes in she mocks the Hope and Change campaign theme…..rather bad. Hopey-Changey? Is she two? She also speaks about a campaign promise of BHOs that bills wouldnt be up for vote until the citizens could read them…Im miffed about this and Im disappointed, HOWEVER, our legislators could have refused to vote on this. There was NO RUSH. Lets put the blame where it needs to be.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7WCPURhyUg&feature=player_embedded

Pt 4
My observations: Sarah Palin mentions at about 5:00 minutes in that you do not need an office or title to make a difference…and while this is true, I guess she needed a clause to make millions in speaking fees. (she did give it back in this case, but come on) And then, she states that The Tea Party (those at this convention) are the loyal opposition….I beg to differ. Not everyone who attended was there to oppose BHO or the democratic party. I know democrats who were there who were upset. At 8:20 she talks about marginalizing….and I beg to differ here as well….It is a takeover of a movement that marginalizes citizens involved in movements.

Pt 5
These were her closing remarks. Nothing special to observe on my part.

Well, I decided to give the election a few days to sink in before doing my own analysis.

Congratulations are in order
First of all, congratulations to President-Elect Barack Obama.
Here’s my take on his win and the republican loss:

This election was historic-no matter which side would have won. We would have the first black president or the first woman vice president. This fact alone brought out voters in droves.

Get out the vote!
The grass roots effort of the democrats was overwhelming. Ive seen those that I know who are mostly apathetic- perform voter registration drives, make phone calls and donate money to Obamas campaign. I dont beleive that if Hilary Clinton would have won the nomination, this grass roots effort would have been so large.

Meanwhile, the republican party also has an amazing base. Most do not realize this fact, because in most states, democrats outnumber republicans two to one.

Why the GOP lost
Republicans were split on MANY levels during this election cycle…”true conservatives” did not think McCain was conservative enough to represent the party, and he was “forced” to pick an unknown governor from Alaska as his running mate. I say McCain was forced to pick Palin because other names that were floated around were also viewed as not conservative enough (i.e. social issues)

Palin, while some thought she was not qualified, brought conservatives back to the party again. McCain enjoyed a boost in fundraising after picking Sarah Palin. As a matter of fact, many republicans werent even “paying attention” anymore until the pick of Palin was revealed.

We are done with HER! Lets rip her to pieces!
What is so surprising is now that the democrats won, republicans are now ripping Sarah Palin to pieces in the media. Werent they just complaining about how the democrats were treating Sarah Palin?

What I REALLY want to know
Had the republicans won, what would they be saying about Sarah Palin then?

Paging Senator McCain……
Why havent we heard from John McCain? Why isnt he defending her? Didnt HE pick her as HIS running mate?

Double standard?
How is it- that if democrats make a mistake (i.e. Biden & Obama) its just that….but if a republican makes a mistake, they are criticized beyond belief? (it makes me think how far I would really go in politics!!!)

Why the democrats won
1) President Bushs approval rating is in the hole.
2) Sheer numbers
3) Rumors
4) Slumping economy

Heres a short explanation of each:
1- President Bush started his Presidency with democrats coming off a tough loss. From there, we had 9/11 and the wars that occurred in the aftermath.
2- As stated above, democrats outnumber republicans two to one (in some areas, four to one)
3- Rumors abound concerning those involved in republican politics. (i.e. pregnancy of the vp candidates daughter)
4- Our economy is in trouble. Our deficit has grown by disgusting amounts – and this is also blamed on our current/outgoing administration.

Heres to the next four years
I do sincerely congratulate Barack Obama. I think he has accomplished something that most beleived would NEVER happen. Kudos to him for that.

Most of you know that I disagree with most of his agenda-
I also want EVERYONE of you to know that I have been praying for him and his family ever since I realized that he would be elected. I want NO harm to come to him.

I think those that wish to harm those who they disagree with, do not understand what it is to BE AN AMERICAN.

I am sickened by those who already want to “impeach” Obama and want to be friends of mine because they beleive that just because Im a conservative, Ill agree with them. This man hasnt even begun his term yet!

Here is a simple way to PEACEFULLY disagree.
Pray for the conversion of that person’s heart.
Make a phone call expressing your concern about the issue. BE POLITE!
Write letters expressing your concern about the issue. BE POLITE!
Write letters to the editor about the issues. BE POLITE!

The other ism is Sexism

Im just so sick and tired of hearing about sexism in politics. Of course, with a Hilary Clinton in the primary, and Sarah Palin in the general – this is a HUGE topic.

The difference I am referencing refers to how women are perceived based on party affiliation.

In the primary, Hilary was running for Prez. She gained support from many woman’s groups. When she did not win the primary, focus centered on whether or not, Obama was going to pick her for VP. When he did not pick her, those groups were “incensed”.

However, when it comes to Republican VP pick, Alaska’s Governor Sarah Palin, the same groups that spoke publically regarding how important it was to have a WOMAN in the White House, now support the democratic candidate, who is a man.

She successfully cleaned up the corruption in Alaska, and really is there for the people. However, due to her party affiliation, she is treated like a monster.

Its no secret that the democratic and republican parties have their own sets of beliefs and values, but its now at all time low when we do not consider someone to be a woman just because we do not share the same beliefs.
