This is my third post regarding the birth control mandate – See https://sheilafaulstich.wordpress.com/2012/01/22/womens-health-care-gets-a-win-and-so-does-the-white-house/ & https://sheilafaulstich.wordpress.com/2012/02/08/get-off-your-sanctimonious-high-horse-obama-birth-control-and-catholics-its-on/

Yesterday President Obama announced his compromise regarding the birth control mandate and the Catholic Bishops apparent tizzy fit.

This compromise is wonderful for the many women who use birth control, whether it be for the use of family planning, or for the use of treating many medical conditions.

Even, Sister Carol Keehan from the Catholic Health Association is pleased with this compromise stating – ‘The Catholic Health Association is very pleased with the White House announcement that a resolution has been reached that protects the religious liberty and conscience rights of Catholic institutions. The framework developed has responded to the issues we identified that needed to be fixed.’

Read the full statement here:  (http://www.chausa.org/Pages/Newsroom/Releases/2012/Catholic_Health_Association_is_Very_Pleased_with_Todays_White_House_Resolution_that_Protects_Religious_Liberty_and_Conscience_Rights/)

However, the Catholic Bishops are still throwing rocks, going as far as denouncing this compromise. (http://www.cnn.com/2012/02/11/politics/contraception-controversy/index.html?eref=mrss_igoogle_cnn)

The above linked article goes on to say that Rep Jim Jordan insists that this compromise still violates the First Amendment – Quote:

“This ObamaCare rule still tramples on Americans’ First Amendment right to freedom of religion,” Jordan said in a written statement. “It’s a fig leaf, not a compromise. Whether they are affiliated with a church or not, employers will still be forced to pay an insurance company for coverage that includes abortion-inducing drugs.”

NEWSFLASH: I have to say that MOST insurance companies provide contraception services. So, unless theres some company out there specializing in health care that agrees with the Catholic faith, you pay an insurance company that covers these services.

I read an article on Mother Jones, which some of you may believe is a liberal website, but what is in this article seems to really be true: (http://motherjones.com/mojo/2012/02/catholic-bishops-want-entire-birth-control-rule-repealed-not-just-religious-exemption)

Let me reiterate that it is discrimination to suggest that Catholic churches only have Catholic employees. However, even Catholic women use birth control. (I mentioned those statistics in an earlier blog thats linked above.) The Catholic church has been attempting to control what their female members do with their bodies since, well…..Theyve been losing this battle since the 60s when birth control became available. And they are STILL losing this fight within their own houses of worship.

Southern Beale says it best within this blog post: Warning: graphic language (http://southernbeale.wordpress.com/2012/02/08/there-is-no-catholic-controversy/)

Catholic institutions like hospitals employ people of all faiths. These employers need to abide by the same rules as everyone else. No one is forcing Catholic employees to use the contraceptive benefit in their insurance plans. What the Catholic bishops are trying to do is get the federal government to enforce the church’s anti-contraception doctrine because they have failed to do so on their own. This isn’t an “assault on religious liberty,” it’s the exact opposite: it’s getting the government to enforce a church rule that no one has followed in decades.’

First-Barack Obama ran a campaign of hope and change….well, the only thing I see is a continuation of the bad policies of George Bush. That aint change.

Then-not only does he badmouth the former President-he continues the wars he was supposedly against…
Ummm, wheres the peace in that?

Many people wonder why I refuse to beleive President Barack Obama…heres another reason.

More of the same? Wheres that change?

Internal Memo Confirms Big Giveaways In White House Deal With Big Pharma

Short version

A memo obtained by the Huffington Post confirms that the White House and the pharmaceutical lobby secretly agreed to precisely the sort of wide-ranging deal that both parties have been denying over the past week.

The memo, which according to a knowledgeable health care lobbyist was prepared by a person directly involved in the negotiations, lists exactly what the White House gave up, and what it got in return.

It says the White House agreed to oppose any congressional efforts to use the government’s leverage to bargain for lower drug prices or import drugs from Canada — and also agreed not to pursue Medicare rebates or shift some drugs from Medicare Part B to Medicare Part D, which would cost Big Pharma billions in reduced reimbursements.

Johnson added that “no outside lobbyists — not a single one — were ever involved in our discussions with the Senate Finance Committee or the White House so someone is blowing smoke.”

But the lobbyist who was given the outline defended its authenticity. And although the White House now says that drug price negotiations and reimportation were not actually discussed in the talks with PhRMA, the lobbyist said: “Well, that’s bull — that’s baloney. That was part of the deal, for them not to push that.”

Obama is walking a tightrope here. He wants to keep PhRMA from opposing the bill, and benefits by having its support, which now includes a $150 million advertising campaign. That’s a fortune in politics — more than Republican presidential candidate John McCain spent on advertising during his entire campaign — but it’s loose change in the pharmaceutical business.

Opponents of the deal with PhRMA hope that Obama is playing a multilayered game, making a deal in order to keep the drug makers in his camp for now, but planning to double-cross them in the end if he needs to in order to pass his signature initiative.

Big Pharma, however, is still comfortable. “As far as the pharmaceutical industry, PhRMA and its member companies, yes, they say a deal is a deal. We’ll see what happens,” said the health care lobbyist.

I just found this online today….
So, our President claims we are a Muslim country…..He makes excuses for Islam.

Our President attacks Christianity and allows passage of laws against principles of Christianity.

The Christian Bible states you cannot serve 2 masters. The Bible meant-God and money….however

Our President cannot serve Islam/Muslim and act like he is protecting our nation. Respecting others’ religions is one thing…catering to one is another.

Just keep watching out for signs….and never despair if you know the truth.

Yesterday, most of us were shocked to hear what occurred in Texas regarding the shootings on Ft Hood. Anytime, anyone is killed it is a tragedy….its a double tragedy that our soldiers were killed by “one of their own”.

So, yesterday afternoon we wait to hear what the President has to say…and for some reason, I beleived that it may have been possible that President Obama wasnt told what was going on….

He starts his press conference out by giving a “shout-out” and then gives thanks for some type of conference….HELLO? This is not the time!

Our President could have done the speech about the tragedy….and later gave his “props” to whomever needed. This showed some insensitivity for the families involved by including these two “speeches” together.
